The North Shore will now be well informed on the various aspects related to its economy. A new economic magazine has just been launched by Éditions Nordiques on June 5 and 6, in Sept-Îles and Baie-Comeau.
“Éditions Nordiques, thanks to their expertise in regional information, identified a lack of in-depth and specialized coverage of the region’s economic issues, which sowed the seed of this ambitious project,” say the magazine’s three editors. , Martin Thomas, Shirley Kennedy and Karine Therrien.
This brand new biannual is part of a context where the North Shore, despite its rich natural resources and economic potential, faces various challenges, such as the fluctuation of key industries, the need for economic diversification and demographic issues, notably the retention and attraction of the workforce.
“The Côte-Nord ÉconomiQ magazine emerges from a desire to contribute significantly to the sustainable development of our beautiful Côte-Nord,” assure the three project managers, proud to finally present the final result to regional partners and businesses.
In 8 1/2 by 11 inch format, made with glossy paper and with a total of 56 pages, the magazine covers a number of diverse subjects for its first issue.
The main issue of this spring edition focuses on wind turbines and renewable energies. Agriculture, fishing, takeovers, new businesses, forestry industry and much more are at the center of its pages.
Nine editors took part in the project in addition to advertising sales managers, revisers and the graphic designer. The 9,000 copies were printed by Solisco and will be distributed by Canada Post.
Note that the Alliance of Chambers of Commerce of the North Shore and the City of Baie-Comeau are the two partners of the first ÉconomiQ magazine.
“This review is and will be a useful way for the Alliance to communicate with thousands of entrepreneurial partners and to highlight our unifying projects,” maintains the Alliance of Chambers of Commerce.
“This new magazine plays an essential role in strengthening the influence of the uniqueness and economic dynamism of our territory,” continues the director of the Economic Development Department of the City of Baie-Comeau, Marie-Josée Paradis.
The next edition of this platform, which aims to promote a dynamic and evolved version of the region, will be published in the fall.
